TOUR MODERN LIMA

Location: Lima, Perú

General public

Description Tour:

You will visit the Miraflores district. We have chosen this district because it has several tourist attractions. At the beginning, Miraflores was an agricultural area inhabited by indigenous people. It was not part of the Colonial Lima

At the beginning of the 19th century, Miraflores was the perfect place for the people who were looking for a quiet place to live. Thus began a new social and architectural development. You will visit the “Huaca Pucllana”. It was a ceremonial and administrative temple, built with adobe material. This material was made by hand with sand and river stones by the Lima Culture. This culture developed between the years of 200 AD and 700 AD. The Huaca has patios, plazas, tombs, and offering places. It was also occupied by other cultures like “Wari” and “Ichma”. All this makes this architectural complex an interesting place to discover.

Next, you will visit the Maria Reiche Park where you will appreciate its green areas where the fabulous and enigmatic Nazca Lines are represented. The park takes its name from the German mathematician who was in charge of the investigation and diffusion of the Nazca Lines until the last days of her life. Later, on our route you will find the Lighthouse Park and the famous “Parque del Amor" (Love Park), located on the waterfront promenade with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the coast of Lima with its cliffs. There, you will appreciate the influence of Gaudí’s work. In the middle of this park, you will also see the “Escultura del Beso” (Sculpture of the Kiss). This sculpture was made by the Peruvian artist Victor Delfin. Finally, you will visit the Barranco district. A romantic and bohemian neighborhood where the “Puente de los Suspiros” (Bridge of the Sighs) stands out. This bridge is surrounded by beautiful colonial houses. We can also appreciate the urban art applied on the walls of the places that were once abandoned. The colorful graffiti used on these walls gives a magical and cheerful air to Barranco district.
