You will visit the Magnificent Historic Centre of Lima., known as the Ciudad de lo Reyes” (City of the Kings). On our way to the Centre of Lima, you will have a panoramic visit of the Huaca Pucllana (Pre-Hispanic Ceremonial Temple that dates back 200 years AD) located in the Miraflores district. This place was included in the tour because not many people know that Lima city is built on temples and administrative and religious complexes.
Once at our destination we will begin our tour on foot through its old historic streets to appreciate its mansions, churches, Government Palace, and City Hall. On our route you will visit the majestic Cathedral of Lima. This cathedral dates from 1535, the same year Lima city was founded by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. The main points of this Cathedral are: the Chapel of Francisco Pizarro, the High Altar with its beautiful and imposing Choir Stalls, the Sacristy, the Chapter House where historical and transcendental events took place. Next, you will visit the Monastery of San Francisco, built in the 17th century. In this great architectural monument, we can appreciate its beautiful Cloisters, Library, Choir Room and its famous and mysterious Catacombs which until the beginning of the Republic era were the largest cemetery in Lima city.
